A salesperson's insider guide to buying a car

You know with about 10 years in the car business. I can tell you a couple tips and tricks of buying a new car from your preferred dealer.

I’ve found many prospects want the “lowest price” confusing it with the “best deal.” Generally, they haven’t done their homework or are in a hurry. You can be in control and get a great deal.

If you’re in the market for new wheels, quit stalling and get your checkbook—now’s the time to buy.  New car prices drop then because salesmen are bonus-hungry; used car prices drop because—well—the cars are getting older.
Kia is one of the few car companies that reward you for going to school or were every apart of the US military. There are other discounts and incentives and you can check it out at Westside Kia. Houston's most preferred Kia dealers in town.

Most dealers make it clear what factory incentives are currently available, because it can help convince a buyer who is sitting on the fence about whether or not to purchase a new car. What might be of great benefit to you is to ask the salesperson what the different incentives are, which one is best and compare the amount you'll save on different car models.
Now comes the time for the bells and whistles. Understanding the different options available on a car and how those options are packaged together can be tricky even for an experienced car buyer. This is one area that car salesmen across the board indicated could be used by consumers to get more bang for their buck. The bigger the package, the more savings on the car. The best way to see if you are getting the best deal possible and not just being drawn in by all the flash of those shiny, sporty wheels and the four-wheel drive is to make a list beforehand of the items you can't live without.

So you found the car you wanted. Now all we have to do is find out how you are going to pay for it. Leasing generally means lower monthly payments than buying new. easing might allow you to afford a better equipped vehicle. You only are, in a sense, leasing a portion of the vehicle that’s new. It’s designed for people with a history of every three years or so getting a different vehicle. You’re staying in a newer vehicle all the time. With that, you generally have factory warranty coverage. It’s really for people who know how many miles they drive per year. If you’re driving more than 15,000 miles a year, purchasing might be a better option.

A car payment and expenses, including insurance and maintenance, should be 12% or less of your take-home pay. New cars depreciate quickly. You may soon owe more than the car is worth (being "upside-down" on the loan). Avoid this by putting at least 20% down.
While leasing isn’t necessarily better than buying (or vice versa), understanding the differences between each option should help car shoppers make an informed buying decision.

Well there you have it ladies and gentlemen. Some sound advice before you walk into the car dealership to purchase your beautiful new or used car.

Kia Motors America has been one of the fastest growing automotive companies in the U.S., and offers some of the best vehicles on the market today.  The Optima, Rio, and Soul recently ranked at or near the top of their segments within the J.D. The Kia Soul claimed the highest ranking in the “Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV)” category for the second year in a row.  The Optima and Rio came in second in the “Midsize” and “Sub-Compact” car segments, respectively.  The APEAL Study measures new-vehicle buyers’ satisfaction based on ratings of Design, Performance, Comfort, Features and Style.

2014 Kia Forte - explained

The Kia Forte is all new for 2014 and is ready to turn heads everywhere.  Much like the previous Optima, the new and improved 2014 Kia Forte is constructed with the signature tiger nose grille, curvy exterior body, sweeping headlights and taillights, and a sharply raked windshield.

The Forte has been fine tuned to go from 0 to 60 in 7.8 seconds and guns through the quarter mile in 16 seconds.  The engine has been reworked with a direct-injection via a six speed automatic transmission, blowing the previous Forte model out of the water in terms of speed.

In the figure eight-test, the new Forte used its increased torsional rigidity to produce an improved time of 27.6 seconds over the older models 28.9 seconds.  Although it’s not classified as a sports car, the Forte takes on squiggly canyon roads with delight, as it eagerly takes on corners without much body roll.

The cabin of the car is amazingly quiet, unlike other vehicles in the compact segment, with hardly any vibrations felt through the steering wheel, floor panels, or pedals.  This is made possible with an aluminum bed plate located under the engine block while other NVH materials inside the doors reduce wind noise.

The 2014 Kia Forte is truly a sight to behold.

How to Keep Your KIA car running like its brand new condition

Kia cars just keep getting better and better with each passing year. Thanks to production improvements and a creative approach, they are considered to be a force to be reckoned with in the global automotive scene. Because of this, a lot of people are now buying new Kia cars from the assembly line, but of course, keeping any car running like it is still a brand new vehicle presents its own unique challenges. Westside Kia presents these 3 tips to ensure your car will continue to run as if it first came out of the lot.

Following your scheduled maintenance

Maintenance schedules are not there just to provide car companies with extra income. These schedules are in place to ensure that your automobile keeps running at peak performance. During these maintenance schedules, crucial running parts are checked for wear and tear. In addition, particular parts and fluids are replaced with fresh ones.

Running your car at a manageable pace

While your Kia is tested to ensure its overall toughness under harsh road conditions, conserving your car is important to keep it running well. As much as possible, running your car at sustainable speeds and regularly keeping the revs down will help in preserving the engine. Limiting hard braking is also known for preserving brakes. Having a refined driving technique can go a long way in preserving your car and all its running parts.

Simply being more careful

Lifespans of different objects can be dramatically expanded by simply being more careful. Handling your car with care, from the way you drive to how gently you press the buttons, can go a long way in preserving your Kia’s glory. Most of the time, keeping your car running like brand new is as simple as giving your car the respect it deserves every single day.

Kia Rio - Westside Kia, Houston TX

For the everyday driver, the Kia Rio is the perfect car due to the engine power, comfortable ride and extreme amount of cargo space.

Most test drivers agree the 2014 Kia Rio has plenty of power.  They say the ride is soft enough to not be jarring over rough roads, yet firm enough to feel composed going through turns. The steering is well-controlled in low-speed parking lot situations and on the highway. It has no problems with highway merging or passing, and the optional automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The four-cylinder engine is capable of getting a 29/37 mpg city/highway EPA fuel economy rating, which is a must in today’s world of fluctuating gas prices.

The roomy cabin also impressed reviewers. It offers plenty of leg space in the front and back seats, with plenty of comfort for day-long trips. The material is great, and like most Kia vehicles, the Rio comes with a tons of standard equipment, including Bluetooth and a USB port for hooking up your iPod or smartphone to the car’s stereo. There is also plenty of trunk space. Since its redesign last year, the Rio has become one of the best subcompact cars on the market today.

2013 Kia Optima explained - Westside Kia Houston,TX

To be sincere, I really don’t know where to start with the 2013 +Kia Optima . That car is astonishingly beautiful  for a family sedan.  It’s also very well equipped & it is super duper value for money. Consider the Toyota Corolla which tome is one of the blandest “if that word exists”  and most boring cars one can buy; here’s a little surprise; the 2013 model costs the same as the Optima.

Now, +Kia Motors America   is offering buyers two trim levels—LX and EX—both of which see a host of underhood upgrades intended to improve fuel economy and drivability. The 2013 Optima hybrid’s engine compartment plays host to a new electric motor that packs seven more horsepower than last year’s unit; the four-cylinder engine actually loses some output, dropping from 166 horsepower to 159. The gas engine’s peak torque is unchanged at 154 lb-ft, and the new electric motor makes the same 151 lb-ft of twist as last year’s. The lithium-polymer battery pack has more capacity than before while taking up less trunk space, and contributes to a boost in overall torque—235 lb-ft from 195; combined horsepower drops by 7 to 199. The net result is an improvement from 34 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway to 36/40 for the Optima hybrid LX, a 1-mpg increase in city mileage for the Optima hybrid EX model, and a claimed increase in responsiveness and performance. Regardless, the Optima’s efficiency, at least as rated by the EPA, is significantly off of the segment-leading Ford Fusion hybrid, although the LX beats the Toyota Camry hybrid on the highway.

As for pricing, the 2013 Optima hybrid LX starts at $26,675, just $125 more than last year’s single EX model, while the up-level 2013 EX starts at $32,725 and basically comes one way: loaded. Standard equipment is essentially unchanged for the base model, and all of the goodies from the 2012 model’s $5350 Premium Tech package—HID headlights, a panoramic sunroof, 17-inch aluminum wheels, an Infinity audio system, navigation, heated front and rear seats, and a cooled driver’s seat—are standard on the reloaded EX model. LX buyers can spec a Convenience package, which adds an eight-way power driver’s seat and Kia’s UVO infotainment system, for an additional $700; both items are standard on the EX, which sees an identical $125 price increase over last year’s model equipped with the Premium Tech and Convenience packages.

The powerful economic engine should also be extra icing on the cake for prospective buyers.
